This collection of wool for spinning was inspired by the condensed, thoughtful messages Sara aka @brinnalangsamt posts on Instagram accompanied by images of her spinning, knitwear and everyday impressions. Her wishes for “dreamy” colours and “dirty pinks” were the starting points for these colourways evolving out of my experimental plant dye practice using resourceful methods. The collection is named “Slow Disruptor” after the way she describes herself and the way we can make an impact through our everyday actions.
Slowly and kindly disrupting and questioning our own ingrained beliefs and behaviours is a starting point empowering us to think about how we want to be in this world.
Communicating non-perfectionism, presence in your everyday moments and setting friendly yet distinct boundaries may have a larger impact than we might think, both on our own being and on others in our immediate surroundings.
The “dreamy” colourways in this collection are a collaboration between Sara and myself and represent that gentle, slow but distinct way of being and disrupting.
Each colour is available in 100-300 g only and may vary on the different bases (BFL, BFL/Silk, Shetland/Silk & Southdown).
